How to make a very creative gingerbread house?
I am in a competition to make the most creative gingerbread house. We are all making them from kits, but we can add any edible ingredients we want. I need good ideas that are “out of the box”.
Melt lifesavers togther for stain glass.
Make a sidewalk up to the front door out of small hershey bars and white icing for the cement in between the bricks or use caramel corn or assorted nuts pressed into white icing for a stone effect. You could also frost the sides of the house and again use different nuts pressed into the icing to give the entire house a stone look.
Cover ice cream cones in frosting and then green-tinted coconut for trees and decorate those with powdered sugar or white coconut to make green trees that have a little snow on them.
Make snowmen out of marshmallows, woodpiles out of pretzel rods, a wreath for the front door out of a shaped green rice krispy treat with red hots to decorate it, use jellybeans to make little shoes and leave them out in front of the door.

*You can also use these to make bushes for the front of the house.
Use mini m&m’s for Christmas lights on the house, trees, sidewalk, etc.
Use a sifter to sift powdered sugar over the decorations for a light snowy look.
