Do you have to pass a background check to rent a gun in California to shoot at a range?
I’ve always wanted to try shooting a gun and my friend and I thought it would be fun to go shooting at a range. I cannot purchase a gun because I would not pass a background check. However I was wondering if the same laws apply to renting?
If you can not pass a background check, you must be a felon or mentally incompetent. With that said if you are in possession of a firearm, you will be committing a felony even if the firearm is rented. If you get busted you would be looking at prison time.
